Answers to the questions that come up most

If yours isn't here, ask it on the call. Nothing's off limits.

Got a question we haven't answered?

Ask it on the call. Twenty minutes, no pricing pressure, and a straight answer about whether we're a fit.

Book a discovery call
How far behind can my books be before it's too late?

There's no too late. We've picked up books that hadn't been opened in two years. Tell us roughly how far back it goes and we'll tell you what catching up looks like. Whatever the number is, we've seen it before.

Do I need to have anything ready before we talk?

No. If you know roughly what you did in revenue last year and what software you're on, that's plenty. If you don't know either, that's worth saying out loud, because it's the reason a lot of people call us in the first place.

Am I too small?

We work best with owner-run businesses doing roughly $1M to $15M. If you're under that, book the call anyway. We'll be straight with you about where you sit, and you'll get something useful out of the conversation either way. Plenty of people we speak to early come back when the timing's right.

What actually happens on the call?

About twenty minutes. We'll ask about your business, where the finances sit today, and what's actually bothering you. Then we walk you through how we work and where money tends to leak in a business like yours. No pricing on this call, that comes after, once we understand the scope. You should come away knowing more about your own numbers than when you started, whether or not you end up working with us.

Is this a sales pitch?

It's a conversation about whether we're a fit for each other. Sometimes we're not, and you'll hear that on the call rather than a month later.

Who's going to see my numbers?

Only the people assigned to your file, and you'll know them by name. Nothing you share on a first call goes anywhere else.

What does it cost?

It depends on how much work there is, so we won't throw a number at you before we understand your situation. What drives it: how many transactions you run, how many accounts and entities we're covering, and how much catching up there is. You'll have a number in writing before anyone starts.

I already have an accountant. Is switching a nightmare?

Switching is a pain. We do the painful parts. We handle the handover and pick up from wherever things stand, and you don't need to have the awkward conversation with anyone before you talk to us.

Can I switch partway through the year?

Yes, and most people do. Waiting for a year end usually just buys you another twelve months of the same problem.
